We analyze spectrum of Laplacian supported by a periodic honeycomb lattice with generally unequal edge lengths and a <i></i> type coupling in the vertices. Such a quantum graph has nonempty point spectrum with compactly supported eigenfunctions provided all the edge lengths are commensurate. We derive conditions determining the continuous spectral component and show that existence of gaps may depend on number-theoretic properties of edge lengths ratios. The case when two of the three lengths coincide is discussed in detail.

In the solution methods of the symmetric cone complementarity problem (SCCP), the squared norm of a complementarity function serves naturally as a merit function for the problem itself or the equivalent system of equations reformulation. In this paper, we study the growth behavior of two classes of such merit functions, which are induced by the smooth EP complementarity functions and the smooth implicit Lagrangian complementarity function, respectively. We show that, for the linear symmetric cone complementarity problem (SCLCP), both the EP merit functions and the implicit Lagrangian merit function are coercive if the underlying linear transformation has the <i>P</i>-property; for the general SCCP, the EP merit functions are coercive only if the underlying mapping has the uniform Jordan <i>P</i>-property, whereas the coerciveness of the implicit Lagrangian merit function requires an additional condition for the

We give Chern-Weil definitions of the Maslov indices of bundle pairs over a Riemann surface with boundary, which consists of symplectic vector bundle on and a Lagrangian subbundle on\partial as well as its generalization for transversely intersecting Lagrangian boundary conditions. We discuss their properties and relations to the known topological definitions. As a main application, we extend Maslov index to the case with orbifold interior singularites, via curvature integral, and find also an analogous topological definition in these cases.

We study B-branes in two-dimensional N=(2,2) anomalous models, and their behaviour as we vary bulk parameters in the quantum Kähler moduli space. We focus on the case of (2,2) theories defined by abelian gauged linear sigma models (GLSM). We use the hemisphere partition function as a guide to find how B-branes split in the IR into components supported on Higgs, mixed and Coulomb branches: this generalizes the band restriction rule of Herbst-Hori-Page to anomalous models. As a central example, we work out in detail the case of GLSMs for Hirzebruch-Jung resolutions of cyclic surface singularities. In these non-compact models we explain how to compute and regularize the hemisphere partition function for a brane with compact support, and check that its Higgs branch component explicitly matches with the geometric central charge of an object in the derived category.

We shall give a complete geometrical description of the FM partners of a K3 surface of Picard number 1 and its applications.
