Let$D$be a strictly pseudoconvex domain in$C$^{$n$}. We prove that $$\bar \partial u = \phi , \phi $$ , ϕ a $$\bar \partial $$ (0,1)-form, admits solutions in$L$^{$p$}(∂$D$), 1≤$p$<∞ and in BMO, under certain Wolff type conditions of ϕ. Some such results (for 1<$p$<∞) have previously been obtained by Amar in the ball, but under slightly stronger hypotheses. As a corollary we obtain a$H$^{$p$}-corona result for two generators.

In these notes we collect some results about finite-dimensional representations of $U_{q}(\mathfrak {gl}(1\mid1))$ and related invariants of framed tangles, which are well-known to experts but difficult to find in the literature. In particular, we give an explicit description of the ribbon structure on the category of finite-dimensional $U_{q}(\mathfrak {gl}(1\mid1))$ -representations and we use it to construct the corresponding quantum invariant of framed tangles. We explain in detail why this invariant vanishes on closed links and how one can modify the construction to get a non-zero invariant of framed closed links. Finally we show how to obtain the Alexander polynomial by considering the vector representation of $U_{q}(\mathfrak {gl}(1\mid1))$ .

In this thesis, we consider some aspects of$noncommutative classical invariant theory$, i.e., noncommutative invariants of$the classical group SL(2, k)$. We develop a$symbolic method$for invariants and covariants, and we use the method to compute some invariant algebras. The subspace$Ĩ$_{d}^{m}of the noncommutative invariant algebra$Ĩ$_{$d$}consisting of homogeneous elements of degree$m$has the structure of a module over the$symmetric group S$_{$m$}. We find the explicit decomposition into irreducible modules. As a consequence, we obtain the$Hilbert series$of the commutative classical invariant algebras. The$Cayley—Sylvester theorem$and the$Hermite reciprocity law$are studied in some detail. We consider a new power series H($Ĩ$_{d},$t$) whose coefficients are the number of irreducible$S$_{$m$}-modules in the decomposition of$Ĩ$_{d}^{m}, and show that it is rational. Finally, we develop some analogues of all this for covariants.
