We give a new characterization of the Orlicz–Sobolev space$W$^{1,Ψ}(R^{$n$}) in terms of a pointwise inequality connected to the Young function Ψ. We also study different Poincaré inequalities in the metric measure space.

We present a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) scheme with suitable quadrature rules \cite{Tchen2017entropy} for ideal compressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations on structural meshes. The semi-discrete scheme is analyzed to be entropy stable by using the symmetrizable version of the equations as introduced by Godunov \cite{godunov1972symmetric}, the entropy stable DG framework with suitable quadrature rules \cite{Tchen2017entropy}, the entropy conservative flux in \cite{chandrashekar2016entropy} inside each cell and the entropy dissipative approximate Godunov type numerical flux at cell interfaces to make the scheme entropy stable. {\color{blue}{ The main difficulty in the generalization of the results in \cite{Tchen2017entropy} is the appearance of the non-conservative ``source terms'' added in the modified MHD model introduced by Godunov \cite{godunov1972symmetric}, which do not exist in the general hyperbolic system studied in \cite{Tchen2017entropy}. Special care must be taken to discretize these ``source terms'' adequately so that the resulting DG scheme satisfies entropy stability. }} Total variation diminishing / bounded (TVD/TVB) limiters and bound-preserving limiters are applied to control spurious oscillations. We demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of this new scheme on standard MHD examples.

Recent work explores the candidate phases of the 4d adjoint quantum chromodynamics (QCD$_4$) with an SU(2) gauge group and two massless adjoint Weyl fermions. Both Cordova-Dumitrescu and Bi-Senthil propose possible low energy 4d topological quantum field theories (TQFTs) to saturate the higher 't Hooft anomalies of adjoint QCD$_4$ under a renormalization-group (RG) flow from high energy. In this work, we generalize the symmetry-extension method [arXiv:1705.06728] to higher symmetries, and formulate higher group cohomology and cobordism theory approach to construct higher-symmetric TQFTs. We prove that the symmetry-extension method saturates certain anomalies, but also prove that neither $A \mathcal{P}_2(B_2)$ nor $\mathcal{P}_2(B_2)$ can be fully trivialized, with the background 1-form field $A$, Pontryagin square $\mathcal{P}_2$ and 2-form field $B_2$. Surprisingly, this indicates an obstruction to constructing a fully 1-form center and 0-form chiral symmetry (full discrete axial symmetry) preserving 4d TQFT with confinement, a no-go scenario via symmetry-extension for specific higher anomalies. We comment on the implications and constraints on deconfined quantum critical points (dQCP), quantum spin liquids (QSL) or quantum fermionic liquids in condensed matter, and ultraviolet-infrared (UV-IR) duality in 3+1 spacetime dimensions.

Let G be a connected reductive complex algebraic group, and E a complex elliptic curve. Let GE denote the connected component of the trivial bundle in the stack of semistable Gbundles on E. We introduce a complex analytic uniformization of G_E by adjoint quotients of reductive subgroups of the loop group of G. This can be viewed as a nonabelian version of the classical complex analytic uniformization E=C^∗/q^Z. We similarly construct a complex analytic uniformization of G itself via the exponential map, providing a nonabelian version of the standard isomorphism C^∗= C/Z, and a complex analytic uniformization of G_E generalizing the standard presentation E = C/(Z ⊕ Zτ). Finally, we apply these results to the study of sheaves with nilpotent singular support. As an application to Betti geometric Langlands conjecture in genus 1, we define a functor from Sh_N(G_E) (the semistable part of the automorphic category) to IndCoh_{Nˇ}(Locsys_{Gˇ}(E)) (the spectral category).
