Given a compact Riemannian manifold $M$, we consider a warped product manifold $\bar M = I \times_h M$, where $I$ is an open interval in $\Bbb R$. For a positive function $\psi$ defined on $\bar M$, we generalize the arguments in \cite{GRW2015} and \cite{RW16}, to obtain the curvature estimates for Hessian equations $\sigma_k(\kappa)=\psi(V,\nu(V))$. We also obtain some existence results for the starshaped compact hypersurface $\Sigma$ satisfying the above equation with various assumptions.

We address the topology of the set of singularities of a solution of a Hamilton-Jacobi equation. For this we will apply the idea of the first two authors (Generalized characteristic and Lax-Oleinik operators: global result, preprint, arXiv:1605.07581, 2016.) to use the positive Lax-Oleinik semi-group to propagate singularities. {\it To cite this article: P. We show that the classical Cauchy problem for the incompressible 3d Navier-Stokes equations with (−1)-homogeneous initial data has a global scale-invariant solution which is smooth for positive times. Our main tech- nical tools are local-in-space regularity estimates near the initial time, which are of independent interest.

For the d-dimensional incompressible Euler equation, the standard energy method gives local wellposedness for initial velocity in Sobolev space with regularity above some critical threshold. The borderline case was a folklore open problem. In this paper we consider the physical dimension d=2 and show that if we perturb any given smooth initial data in critical norm, then the corresponding solution can have infinite critical norm instantaneously at t>0. In a companion paper we settle the 3D and more general cases. The constructed solutions are unique and even infinitely-smooth (locally) in some cases. To prove these results we introduce a new strategy: large Lagrangian deformation induces critical norm inflation. As an application we also settle several closely related open problems.
