In two earlier papers with the same title, we studied connections between Voronoi’s formula in the divisor problem and Atkinson’s formula for the mean square of Riemann’s zeta-function. Now we consider this correspondence in terms of segments of sums appearing in these formulae and show that a certain arithmetic conjecture concerning the divisor function implies best possible bounds for the classical error terms Δ($x$) and$E$($T$).

We give an example of a dominant rational self-map of the projective plane whose dynamical degree is a transcendental number.

For each positive characteristic multiple zeta value defined by Thakur, the first and third authors constructed a t-module such that a certain coordinate of a logarithmic vector of a specified algebraic point is a rational multiple of that multiple zeta value. The main result in this paper gives explicit formulae for all of the coordinates of this logarithmic vector in terms of Taylor coefficients of t-motivic multiple zeta values and t-motivic Carlitz multiple star polylogarithms.
