In this note we discuss a recent proof of the formula for the worldsheet instanton prepotential predicted by Mirror Symmetry for the quintics in <b>P</b>⁴. One of the key ingredients in the proof is the equivariant cohomology groups on the so-called linear sigma model moduli spaces. We introduce the notion of admissible data on the equivariant cohomology groups of the linear sigma model. An admissible data may be thought of as a sequence of equivariant classes satisfying certain algebraic conditions. It arises naturally from Kontsevich's stable map compactification of moduli spaces of maps from curves into projective manifolds. The structures of admissible data help reduce many counting problems to checking certain combinatorial structure of a compactification. The mirror transformation of Candelas et al turns out to be a transformation between two admissible data associated respectively to the linear and the non-linear

The approach based on the construction of some nonlinear functionals was proved to be robust in the study of the well-posedness theories of hyperbolic conservation laws, especially in one space dimensional case. In particular, a generalized entropy functional was constructed in [T.-P. Liu, T. Yang, A new entropy functional for scalar conservation laws, Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 52 (1999) 14271442] for the L 1 stability of weak solutions. However, this generalized functional is so far only defined for scalar equations with convex flux function. We consider a damped/driven nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation in an $n$-cube $K^{n}\subset\mathbb{R}^n$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$, under Dirichlet boundary conditions \[ u_t-\nu\Delta u+i|u|^2u=\sqrt{\nu}\eta(t,x),\quad x\in K^{n},\quad u|_{\partial K^{n}}=0, \quad \nu>0, \] where $\eta(t,x)$ is a random force that is white in time and smooth in space. It is known that the Sobolev norms of solutions satisfy $ \| u(t)\|_m^2 \le C\nu^{-m}, $ uniformy in $t\ge0$ and $\nu>0$. In this work we prove that for small $\nu>0$ and any initial data, with large probability the Sobolev norms $\|u(t,\cdot)\|_m$ of the solutions with $m>2$ become large at least to the order of $\nu^{-\kappa_{n,m}}$ with $\kappa_{n,m}>0$, on time intervals of order $\mathcal{O}(\frac{1}{\nu})$.
