In this paper, we establish a number of Lp-affine isoperimetric inequalities for Lp-geominimal surface area. In particular, we obtain a Blaschke– Santal´o type inequality and a cyclic inequality between different Lp-geominimal surface areas of a convex body.

Homology theory relative to classes of objects other than those of projective or injective objects in abelian categories has been widely studied in the last years, giving a special relevance to Gorenstein homological algebra. We prove the existence of Gorenstein flat precovers in any locally finitely presented Grothendieck category in which the class of flat objects is closed under extensions, the existence of Gorenstein injective preenvelopes in any locally noetherian Grothendieck category in which the class of all Gorenstein injective objects is closed under direct products, and the existence of special Gorenstein injective preenvelopes in locally noetherian Grothendieck categories with a generator lying in the left orthogonal class to that of Gorenstein injective objects.

In this survey paper, we will present the recent work on the study of the compressible fluids with vacuum states by illustrating its interesting and singular behavior through some systems of fluid dynamics, that is, Euler equations, EulerPoisson equations and NavierStokes equations. The main concern is the well-posedness of the problem when vacuum presents and the singular behavior of the solution near the interface separating the vacuum and the gas. Furthermore, the relation of the solutions for the gas dynamics with vacuum to those of the Boltzmann equation will also be discussed. In fact, the results obtained so far for vacuum states are far from being complete and satisfactory. Therefore, this paper can only be served as an introduction to this interesting field which has many open and challenging mathematical problems. We study Thurston’s Lipschitz and curve metrics, as well as the arc metric on the Teichmüller space of one-hold tori equipped with complete hyperbolic metrics with boundary holonomy of fixed length. We construct natural Lipschitz maps between two surfaces equipped with such hyperbolic metrics that generalize Thurston’s stretch maps and prove the following: (1) On the Teichmüller space of the torus with one boundary component, the Lipschitz and the curve metrics coincide and define a geodesic metric on this space. (2) On the same space, the arc and the curve metrics coincide when the length of the boundary component is ≤4arcsinh(1), but differ when the boundary length is large. We further apply our stretch map generalization to construct novel Thurston geodesics on the Teichmüller spaces of closed hyperbolic surfaces, and use these geodesics to show that the sum-symmetrization of the Thurston metric fails to exhibit Gromov hyperbolicity.
