The $L_p$ cosine transform on Grassmann manifolds naturally induces finite dimensional Banach norms whose unit balls are origin-symmetric convex bodies in $\rn$. Reverse isoperimetric type volume inequalities for these bodies are established, which extend results from the sphere to Grassmann manifolds.

We define piecewise continuous almost automorphic (p.c.a.a.) functions in the manners of Bochner, Bohr and Levitan, respectively, to describe almost automorphic motions in impulsive systems, and prove that with certain prefixed possible discontinuities they are equivalent to quasi-uniformly continuous Stepanov almost automorphic ones. Spatially almost automorphic sets on the line, which serve as suitable objects containing discontinuities of p.c.a.a. functions, are characterized in the manners of Bochner, Bohr and Levitan, respectively, and shown to be equivalent. Two Favard's theorems are established to illuminate the importance and convenience of p.c.a.a. functions in the study of almost periodically forced impulsive systems.

We study the effective Batalin-Vilkovisky quantization theory for chiral deformation of two dimensional conformal field theories. We establish an exact correspondence between renormalized quantum master equations for effective functionals and Maurer-Cartan equations for chiral vertex operators. The generating functions are proven to have modular property with mild holo- morphic anomaly. As an application, we construct an exact solution of quan- tum B-model (BCOV theory) in complex one dimension that solves the higher genus mirror symmetry conjecture on elliptic curves.

3D surface classification is a fundamental problem in computer vision and computational geometry. Surfaces can be classified by different transformation groups. Traditional classification methods mainly use topological transformation groups and Euclidean transformation groups. This paper introduces a novel method to classify surfaces by conformal transformation groups. Conformal equivalent class is refiner than topological equivalent class and coarser than isometric equivalent class, making it suitable for practical classification purposes. For general surfaces, the gradient fields of conformal maps form a vector space, which has a natural structure invariant under conformal transformations. We present an algorithm to compute this conformal structure, which can be represented as matrices, and use it to classify surfaces. The result is intrinsic to the geometry, invariant to triangulation and insensitive to resolution. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper to classify surfaces with arbitrary topologies by global conformal invariants. The method introduced here can also be used for surface matching problems.
