A finite EI category is a small category with finitely many morphisms such that every endomorphism is an isomorphism. They include finite groups, finite posets and free categories of finite quivers as special cases. In this paper we consider the representation types of finite EI categories, describe some criteria for finite representation type, and use them to classify the representation types of several classes of finite EI categories with extra properties.

This paper deals with Lp geominimal surface area and its extension to Lp mixed geominimal surface area. We give an integral formula of Lp geominimal surface area by the p-Petty body and introduce the concept of Lp mixed geominimal surface area which is a natural extension of Lp geominimal surface area. Some inequalities, such as, analogues of Alexandrov–Fenchel inequalities, Blaschke–Santaló inequalities, and affine isoperimetric inequalities for Lp mixed geominimal surface areas are obtained.

Japan’s lunar probe satellite “Kaguya”, China’s lunar probe satellite “Chang’ e-1 lunar probe” left the earth on September 14th, 2007 and October 24th, 2007, began the exploration to the moon. The launching of the China’s lunar satellite is the proud to the global Chinese. However, at the same time as we are proud of the event, we must admit that the pictures published which were sent back by Japanese are clearer and more beautiful than Chinese. While we are saying that the Japan has a better technology, maybe we also need to say that the Japanese can hold better chance than Chinese when taking the pictures. The following two pictures were sent back by the satellite. Picture one is sent back by Japan’s satellite, Picture two is sent back by China’s. It can be seen that there is a long way for China if we want to become stronger at science technology. We also hope that we can have some contribution in the prosperity of China now and in the future.

We show that the scaling limit exists and is invariant under dilations and rotations. We give some tools that might be useful to show universality.

This paper presents an algorithm for extending B-spline curves and surfaces. Based on the unclamping algorithm for B-spline curves, we propose a new algorithm for extending B-spline curves that extrapolates using the recurrence property of the de Boor algorithm. This algorithm provides a nice extension, with maximum continuity, to the original curve segment. Moreover, it can be applied to the extension of B-spline surfaces. Extension to both single and multiple target points/curves are considered in this paper.
