We construct an enhanced version of knot contact homology, and show that we can deduce from it the group ring of the knot group together with the peripheral subgroup. In particular, it completely determines a knot up to smooth isotopy. The enhancement consists of the (fully noncommutative) Legendrian contact homology associated to the union of the conormal torus of the knot and a disjoint cotangent fiber sphere, along with a product on a filtered part of this homology. As a corollary, we obtain a new, holomorphiccurve proof of a result of the third author that the Legendrian isotopy class of the conormal torus is a complete knot invariant.

This paper studies a notion of enumerative invariants for stable A-branes, and discusses its relation to invariants defined by spectral and exponential networks. A natural definition of stable A-branes and their counts is provided by the string theoretic origin of the topological A-model. This is the Witten index of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics of a single D3 brane supported on a special Lagrangian in a Calabi-Yau threefold. Geometrically, this is closely related to the Euler characteristic of the A-brane moduli space. Using the natural torus action on this moduli space, we reduce the computation of its Euler characteristic to a count of fixed points via equivariant localization. Studying the A-branes that correspond to fixed points, we make contact with definitions of spectral and exponential networks. We find agreement between the counts defined via the Witten index, and the BPS invariants defined by networks. By extension, our definition also matches with Donaldson-Thomas invariants of B-branes related by homological mirror symmetry.

We formulate a constructive theory of noncommutative Landau-Ginzburg models mirror to symplectic manifolds based on Lagrangian Floer theory. The construction comes with a natural functor from the Fukaya category to the category of matrix factorizations of the constructed Landau-Ginzburg model. As applications, it is applied to elliptic orbifolds, punctured Riemann surfaces and certain non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds to construct their mirrors and functors. In particular it recovers and strengthens several interesting results of Etingof-Ginzburg, Bocklandt and Smith, and gives a unified understanding of their results in terms of mirror symmetry and symplectic geometry. As an interesting application, we construct an explicit global deformation quantization of an affine del Pezzo surface as a noncommutative mirror to an elliptic orbifold.

We construct positive loops of Legendrian submanifolds in several instances. In particular, we partially recover G. Liu’s result stating that any loose Legendrian admits a positive loop, under some mild topological assumptions on the Legendrian. Moreover, we show contractibility of the constructed loops under an extra topological assumption.

We study the geometry of the Grassmannians of symplectic subspaces in a symplectic vector space. We construct symplectic twistor spaces by the symplectic quotient construction and use them to describe the symplectic geometry of the symplectic Grassmannians.

We introduce symplectic Calabi–Yau caps to obtain new obstructions to exact fillings. In particular, they imply that any exact filling of the standard contact structure on the unit cotangent bundle of a hyperbolic surface has vanishing first Chern class and has the same integral homology and intersection form as its disk cotangent bundle. This gives evidence to a conjecture that all of its exact fillings are diffeomorphic to the disk cotangent bundle. As a result, we also obtain the first infinite family of Stein fillable contact 3-manifolds with uniform bounds on the Betti numbers of its exact fillings but admitting minimal strong fillings of arbitrarily large b2. Moreover, we introduce the notion of symplectic uniruled/adjunction caps and uniruled/ adjunction contact structures to present a unified picture to the existing finiteness results on the topological invariants of exact/strong fillings of a contact 3-manifold. As a byproduct, we find new classes of contact 3-manifolds with the finiteness properties and extend Wand’s obstruction of planar contact 3-manifolds to uniruled/adjunction contact structures with complexity zero.

Almost toric manifolds form a class of singular Lagrangian fibered symplectic manifolds that include both toric manifolds and the K3 surface. We classify closed almost toric four-manifolds up to diffeomorphism and indicate precisely the structure of all almost toric fibrations of closed symplectic four-manifolds. A key step in the proof is a geometric classification of the singular integral affine structures that can occur on the base of an almost toric fibration of a closed four-manifold. As a byproduct we provide a geometric explanation for why a generic Lagrangian fibration over the two-sphere must have 24 singular fibers.

Mirror symmetry conjecture identifies the complex geometry of a Calabi $ Yau manifold with the symplectic geometry of its mirror Calabi $ Yau man $ ifold. Using the SYZ mirror transform, we argue that (i) the mirror of an elliptic Calabi $ Yau manifold admits a twin Lagrangian fibration structure and (ii) the mirror of the Fourier $ Mukai transform for dual elliptic fibra $ tions is a symplectic Fourier $ Mukai transform for dual twin Lagrangian fibrations, which is essentially an identity transformation in this case.

We prove a version of equivariant split generation of Fukaya category when a symplectic manifold admits a free action of a finite group <i>G</i>. Combining this with some generalizations of Seidel's algebraic frameworks from [35], we obtain new cases of homological mirror symmetry for some symplectic tori with non-split symplectic forms, which we call <i>special isogenous tori</i>. This extends the work of AbouzaidSmith [2]. We also show that derived Fukaya categories are complete invariants of special isogenous tori.

We introduce the notion of symplectic flatness for connections and fiber bundles over symplectic manifolds. Given an $A_\infty$-algebra, we present a flatness condition that enables the twisting of the differential complex associated with the $A_\infty$-algebra. The symplectic flatness condition arises from twisting the $A_\infty$-algebra of differential forms constructed by Tsai, Tseng and Yau. When the symplectic manifold is equipped with a compatible metric, the symplectic flat connections represent a special subclass of Yang-Mills connections. We further study the cohomologies of the twisted differential complex and give a simple vanishing theorem for them.

We construct a Lagrangian torus fibration on a smooth hypertoric variety and a corresponding SYZ mirror variety using T-duality and generating functions of open Gromov--Witten invariants. The variety is singular in general. We construct a resolution of the variety using the wall and chamber structure on the base of the SYZ fibration.

We construct an integrable hierarchy in the form of Hirota quadratic equations (HQE) that governs the Gromov--Witten (GW) invariants of the Fano orbifold projective curve P^1_{a1,a2,a3}. The vertex operators in our construction are given in terms of the K-theory of P^1_{a1,a2,a3} via Iritani's Γ-class modification of the Chern character map. We also identify our HQEs with an appropriate Kac--Wakimoto hierarchy of ADE type. In particular, we obtain a generalization of the famous Toda conjecture about the GW invariants of P^1 .

We study Legendrian embeddings of a compact Legendrian submanifold L sitting in a closed contact manifold (M,ξ) whose contact structure is supported by a (contact) open book OB on M. We prove that if OB has Weinstein pages, then there exist a contact structure ξ′ on M, isotopic to ξ and supported by OB, and a contactomorphism f:(M,ξ)→(M,ξ′) such that the image f(L) of any such submanifold can be Legendrian isotoped so that it becomes disjoint from the closure of a page of OB.

We study the CalabiYau equation on symplectic manifolds. We show that Donaldson's conjecture on estimates for this equation in terms of a taming symplectic form can be reduced to an integral estimate of a scalar potential function. Under a positive curvature condition, we show that the conjecture holds.

We compute the ring structure of Floer cohomology groups of Lagrangian torus fibers in some toric Fano manifolds continuing the study of [CO]. Related <i>A</i>-formulas hold for a transversal choice of chains. Two different computations are provided: a direct calculation using the classification of holomorphic discs by Oh and the author in [CO], and another method by using an <i>analogue of divisor equation</i> in Gromov-Witten invariants to the case of discs. Floer cohomology rings are shown to be isomorphic to Clifford algebras, whose quadratic forms are given by the Hessians of functions <i>W</i>, which turn out to be the superpotentials of Landau-Ginzburg mirrors. In the case of , this proves the prediction made by Hori, Kapustin and Li by B-model calculations via physical arguments. Recently, Tsai-Tseng-Yau constructed new invariants of symplectic manifolds: a sequence of A-infinity algebras built of differential forms on the symplectic manifold. We show that these symplectic A-infinity algebras have a simple topological interpretation. Namely, when the cohomology class of the symplectic form is integral, these A-infinity algebras are equivalent to the standard de Rham differential graded algebra on certain odd dimensional sphere bundles over the symplectic manifold. From this equivalence, we deduce for a closed symplectic manifold that Tsai-Tseng-Yau's symplectic A-infinity algebras satisfy the Calabi-Yau property, and importantly, that they can be used to define an intersection theory for coisotropic/isotropic chains. We further demonstrate that these symplectic A-infinity algebras satisfy several functorial properties and lay the groundwork for addressing Weinstein functoriality and invariance in the smooth category.
